- Office visits are made by appointment. To better serve our patients, we would appreciate 24 hour advance notification to our office if you need to reschedule your appointment.
- Every effort will be made to keep your wait as short as possible.
- Our staff will register you, obtaining personal and insurance information. It would be appreciated if you could have your necessary insurance cards and/or referral papers ready. You may save yourself time on your first visit by registering online.
- A panoramic x-ray will be taken if necessary by one of our licensed personnel. This
x-ray will let the doctors see your entire jaw and teeth in one picture.
- Your medical history will be reviewed by one of our professional staff members.
- Upon completion of your consultation, our financial staff will explain fees and insurance coverage.
- Our office participates in most insurance plans including PA Blue Shield, US Healthcare and Keystone Central HMO's. Medicare assignment is accepted. For a complete list of our accepted methods of payment and insurance programs please click here.
- The doctors can be reached 24 hours a day for emergencies and/or complications that may arise from your surgery. For all emergencies or questions please call (610)253-3594 or 1-800-698-8088.
- Appointments can be made by phone or in person at our office, from 9:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. You may also request an appointment anytime using our online appointment request form.
- Many patients are referred by their family dentist for evaluation and treatment. If you are using medical insurance and participate in an HMO you will need to bring the referral from your family care doctor. Obtaining the doctor referral is the patient's responsiblity. Our office can not obtain it for you. If you are unsure whether you need a doctor referral contact your insurance provider.
- All patients under the age of 18 require a parent or the legal guardian to be present at the time of the consultation. If your child is over 18 and you will be financially responsible for the treatment, it is recommended that you attend.
- Our office participates in most insurance plans including PA Blue Shield, US Healthcare and Keystone Central HMO's. Medicare assignment is accepted for covered services. - You may bring your own x-rays from your dentist. However, there may be times when we will need to take additional x-rays to better diagnose and treat you.
- Conduct an oral cancer self examination.
- Remove any dental appliances.
- Look and feel inside your lips and the front of the gums.
- Tilt your head back to examine and feel the roof of your mouth.
- Pull your cheek out to see the inside of it and the back gums.
- Stick out your tongue, look at all surfaces.
- Feel for lumps or enlarged nodes(glands) in both sides of the neck and under the lower jaw.
- Any abnormal sores, ulcerations, white or red areas or lumps should be evaluated, if they last more than two weeks. A biopsy may be necessary.
- Broken tooth:
- Clean injured area and apply ice.
- Save the tip of the tooth; it may be used during treatment and contact your family dentist as soon as possible.
- Knocked out teeth:
- Seek immediate help from an oral and maxillofacial surgeon. Most knocked out teeth can be saved if cared for properly and reimplanted within one hour.
- Cuts inside your mouth:
- Gently rinse mouth with cold water.
- Bite on gauze, clean tissue or cloth and apply direct pressure to the wound.
- Jaw injuries:
- Apply ice to control swelling.
- Go to the emergency room as soon as possible, and contact your oral and maxillofacial surgeon.
- Baby bottle tooth decay is a condition that can destroy the primary teeth of an infant or young child. It occurs when the child's teeth are frequently exposed to sugary liquids for long periods. These liquids include milk(even breast milk), formula, fruit juice and other sweetened liquids.
